The starting point
Kako se pravi (“How it’s made”) is a site with home recipes and DIY guides: bread, pies, kajmak, rakija, soap and charcoal, explained step by step. It ran on a PHP magazine script with a database: every visit had the server assemble the page from PHP and SQL, with a heavy Bootstrap theme on top. Pages were slow, the URLs depended on the script, and every update of the script was a risk.
The client wanted the same site and the same addresses, but as fast as a site can be, still on the same ordinary cPanel hosting. The client also asked to keep AdSense, Analytics and both Meta Pixels running, and to have the site redesigned to look like a proper food magazine.
Results
On the live site Lighthouse gives 97 for Performance and 100 for Accessibility, Best Practices and SEO, with ads, analytics and both pixels still running.
